A bot flower under the morning sun light
by on 17.08.2008. 19:06
Of course, first thing was to test Pety's camera. So, after few shots I become familiarized and managed to make good shots on manual settings.

This one is intentionally overexposed.

A better camera is... better
by on 17.08.2008. 17:04
This weekend I was visited by my brother Pety, and I had the opportunity to see his photo camera, a FujiFilm Finepix S5700. I don't know how good it is, here are many better models but for me it was. Because I have my photo camera as a term of comparison..
It was a good occasion to play with manual settings and yes, is better than mine and results are great. I am delighted!

Conversion to sNews
by on 15.08.2008. 04:02
I successfully converted eventscompany.ro from my Alternative CMS (a fork of Article Script 1.1 of Johan Hornquist) to sNews 1.6 with KPicasa MOD and many useful modifications from snewscms.com forums. Many thanks to members of that great community!
Click on pictures below.

Here, the most recent article on blog page. You can see "icons for category mod" applied for "recent articles menu" and "categories menu".

Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One
by on 14.08.2008. 22:23
(Deuteronomy 6:4) Av 13, 5768/August 14, 2008
This past Sunday, the ninth of Av, Jews the world over mourned the loss of the Holy Temple. The day is marked by Jews of all stripes, those more observant, and those less observant, as every Jew recognizes the great and enduring rent rendered in the fabric of our relationship with G-d as a nation and as individuals, as a result from the destruction of the Holy Temple at the hands of the Roman legions 1938 years ago. Righteous Gentiles, too, are counted among the mourners of the Holy Temple's destruction and desolation. In truth, all nations should mourn bitterly the loss of the house of G-d on Mount Moriah, as all the world stands diminished as a result.
Tune in to this week's Temple Talk as Rabbi Chaim Richman and Yitzchak Reuven reflect on Tish'a 'Av , look forward to Tu b'Av , investigate the weekly Torah reading of Ve'etchanan and describe the turnaround in the air as Menachem Av moves from destruction to renewal, and the first glimpses of Rosh Hashana appear on the horizon.

CSS and div's instead of tables
by on 12.08.2008. 10:57
I dropped the table from home page! Now I'm using div's and is looking better. I tested the new layout in Konqueror and FIrefox.
I'm emulating a table with three columns. The CSS code is this:
.clear { clear: both; }
.caseta1 {
float:left;
width:32%;
border-top:1px solid #ddd;
margin-left:3px;
}
.caseta2 {
float:left;
width:32%;
border-top:1px solid #ddd;
display:inline;
margin-left:5px;
}
.caseta3 {
float:right;
width:32%;
border-top:1px solid #ddd;
margin-right:6px;
}
The code is inspired by @Patric from snewscms forums and by styleshout (I'm using his theme).
