I tried to follow this tutorial but I liked the silhouette more. So, I keep it!

Unfortunately, original image had only 256 colors (indexed palette). So, I downloaded the .xcf file and extracted that one with rgb palette.

Thank you @Gimper! It mean a lot to me. I know almost nothing about GIMP. So, your tutorials are great. Also resources: scripts, brushes, etc.

Thank you. I have a lot to learn. I tried that silhouette to be the only source of light, in night. But if you click on image, you go on my Picasa gallery and there I have a few variants... Did not know what to choose.

the darker colors give the best dramatic look, focus best on the person.

on of the best things with computer graphics is the freedom of experiment.
as with any tool we use, the tool needs to be learned and used for some time.
thats the fun about it
